Campbell County dispatchers say I-75 in Campbell County near Caryville is down to one lane each, northbound and southbound, following a fatal tractor trailer accident.

According to the TDOT Smartmap, authorities are estimating the accident will be clear by 3:00 p.m.

One lane of northbound traffic on I-75 is closed at the time of this posting after a crash involving a tractor trailer killed one person Wednesday morning.

According to TDOT, the crash happened in Campbell County near Caryville, shortly before 2:00 a.m.

THP couldn't elaborate on how the crash happened.  They did say that it involved a tractor trailer and a Chevy Trailblazer and that one person has died.

Crews initially shut down both northbound lanes of I-75 but according to TDOT they've cleared part of the wreck and reopened one lane.

TDOT says they hope to have both lanes reopened by 10:00 a.m.
There's no word on any additional injuries at this point.
