Vandals strike Big South Fork again

For the third time this year, vandals have struck the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area, causing thousands of dollars in damage.

Park officials say someone smashed toilets and sinks inside bathrooms at the Yahoo Falls parking lot of the Kentucky side of the park. They say they don't know when they'll be able to re-open the bathroom and may have to use port-o-potties instead.

Back in April, vandals pulled off the tops of park mapping stations. From January to April, damage in the park had already added up to $10,000.

Park rangers say if you have any information about the crimes to call the chief ranger's office at (423) 569-2404 extension 263.
