Thousands of East Tennesseans took the time to say thanks to the men and women who've served our country on Sunday.

In honor of Veterans Day, bands played each branch's song as they marched down LaFollette's streets. Military veterans also walked in the parade, along with active military members, who carried a gigantic American flag.

One spectator Trenton Burris said the parade was a good history lesson for kids.

"Teach the kids what it's means to be a proud American. Teach them what it is about the wars and those that have served. Show the veterans that we appreciate what they've done and just support the ones that are still in the service," said Burris.
