Vigil held for Christina Bussell on anniversary of disappearance

On the one-year anniversary of her disappearance, family and friends held a vigil Friday praying and hoping to bring home Christina Bussell.

They gathered at General Winfield Scott Memorial Park in Winfield, praying for the 26-year-old's safe return. She was last seen walking in Kentucky a year ago.

At the time of her disappearance, Bussell had long, brown hair and weighed 100 pounds.

After a year, family and friends say they aren't giving up hope.

"Somebody knows something, and we thought we'd have another candlelight vigil since it's been a year, to let everyone know we won't forget her and that we'll always keep searching for her until she's found," said Bussell's sister, Alisha Cooper.

Anyone with information about Bussell's disappearance is asked to call the Scott County Sheriff's Department at (423) 663-3111.
