Boater critical after running aground on Norris Lake

(WBIR-LaFollette) A LaFollette man is still hospitalized after a running his boat aground last week in Norris Lake.

According to TWRA, Jimmy Arnold, 52, was the only one on board the open bow 24-foot Chaparral boat when he ran aground near Shanghai Marina. The boat came to rest 69 feet onto the point.

Witnesses on a nearby houseboat said Arnold was headed to their location at Heatherly's point. They saw the accident and called 911.

Arnold was transported by Lifestar helicopter to UT, where is in critical condition.
