Kids can't buy tobacco products, but in Tennessee children as young as 9 are working in tobacco fields and suffering symptoms consistent with acute nicotine poisoning, according to a report by an international human rights group.

Oneida business loses more than $100K of equipment in fire

The owner of Brewster Builders says he lost 40 years and hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of equipment in a fire Friday morning.

David Brewster said the fire originally started when employees were burning debris in a stove in their warehouse.  They believed it was contained, until an employee saw smoke coming from the building.

Brewster and his employees were next door in the office, just feet from the warehouse.  Then a propane tank inside the warehouse caused an explosion.

Scott Co. unemployment rate increases again in July

Numbers from the state show even more people are out of work in an East Tennessee county plagued by unemployment.

Scott County has one of the highest unemployment rates in the state, coming in at 21.7 percent. That number is for July, and is just over two percent higher than the previous month.

Tennessee's unemployment rate for July increased only slightly, and Knox County once again had the state's lowest major metropolitan rate.
