Lake City Police investigate shooting

Lake City Police are investigating a shooting, and they're working with very few leads about a possible suspect.

The call came Thursday afternoon at the intersection of US 441 and Railroad Avenue.

Authorities say Scotty Tackett, 29, was shot once by the suspect.

He was able to drive to Campbell County before calling for help.
A helicopter flew him to UT Medical Center.

There's no word on Tackett's condition.

Authorities say they're working on a description of the suspect.

Jellico's history unfolds on mural

A plain wall in the heart of an East Tennessee town has a fresh new look thanks to fresh paint.

The wall tells the history of Jellico.

Jellico High School Art Teacher Dee Day said, "I got a phone call from the mayor of Jellico and he was asking if we could put something on this huge wall."

The answer was yes.

City workers painted the wall white then Dee Day sketched in some murals reflecting the town's history.

Roane, Campbell enforcing "no refusal" law this weekend

State officials are gearing up for another holiday weekend by focusing on the state's "no refusal" law.

Friday, a number of law enforcement leaders and prosecutors gathered in Knoxville to announce that Roane and Campbell counties will add patrols on Labor Day weekend.

They want to ensure people traveling Tennessee roads are aware of new rules facing suspected truck drivers.

The "no refusal" law took effect in July.

The Labor Day enforcement will focus on 16 counties state-wide.
